PRE-TESTING: All Red Belts to Brown Belts
TESTING: 6th & 7th Degree Brown Belts
- Pre-Testing $10
- Testing $100
- Pair of clothes to run in – sneakers, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts
- Pair of dry clothes to return home in
- Small towel
- All weapons and equipment
- 1-2 bottles of water
TESTING STUDENTS: If you are testing for Black Belt you must bring a hand written essay, 500 words in length, on what you have learned on your journey to your Black Belt.
Only students testing or pre-testing may be at the Rec Center from 12pm - 5pm.
Jon Olmsted has been practicing Martial Arts for over 33 years, achieving his Black Belt on April 14th, 1986. Since then he has progressed through the ranks achieving his Instructors Certification on November 14th, 1988, his Master Degree on October 9th 1995, and recently achieving his 7th Degree on July 4, 2014. After receiving his Instructors Certification, he helped his Master run and operate his Studio working with the school systems and their children. He then owned and operated his own studio, Jon’s Karate Academy, for 14 years, teaching students from 4-60 years of age. He has trained in numerous styles, 11 in all, with many other programs, such as Stanger Danger, Bully Buster and Safety Awareness. He has been teaching these 3 other special programs to Elementary and Middle schools, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. He also has taught Martial Arts to special needs children from those that have ADD, ADHD, Autism, Cerebal Palsy as well as a deaf child. His diverse and experienced background make him a perfect fit for N2iT.
